Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website and contact us to request a free trial, why we use it, who we share it with and what your rights are.
1. Who we are
The data controller is AboStream (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].
2. How this website works
This website has no user accounts and does not take payments. To request a free trial you contact us by WhatsApp, Telegram or email. The WhatsApp and Telegram buttons on our pages do not send data to our servers: they open the app with a pre-filled message, and nothing reaches us until you press send in that app.
3. What we collect
- Messages you send us. Your WhatsApp number or Telegram username and profile name, your email address if you write to us by email, the content of your messages, the device type and country you tell us, any username or device details (such as a device model or MAC address) you choose to send for support, and a short reference code taken from the advertising link you came from (for example “Ref: uk-oct-a1”).
- Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of request.
- Choice about cookies. We store your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage so we do not ask you on every visit.
- Advertising measurement data (only if you accept). See section 5.
Please do not send us passwords, payment card numbers or other sensitive information in chat.
4. Why we use your data and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (UK GDPR / GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Reply to your trial request, set up and support your trial | Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract; our legitimate interests in answering enquiries |
| Prevent repeated or abusive trial requests | Our legitimate interests in protecting the service |
| Measure and improve our advertising (Meta Pixel) | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Keep the website secure and working (server logs) | Our legitimate interests |
| Comply with legal obligations and defend legal claims | Legal obligation; our legitimate interests |
5. Meta Pixel and cookies
If you click Accept in our cookie banner, we load the Meta Pixel. It sets cookies and sends information to Meta about your visit, such as pages viewed, which chat button you clicked, which device type you selected, how far you scrolled, and technical data like your IP address and browser details. We use this to measure whether our advertisements work and to improve them. If you click Reject, the Pixel is not loaded. Under Meta’s Business Tools Terms, Meta and we may each be responsible for parts of this processing; Meta’s use of the data is described in Meta’s own privacy policy.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cc_v1 (local storage) | This website | Remembers your cookie choice. Strictly necessary. | Until you clear your browser data |
| _fbp | Meta Pixel (only after you accept) | Identifies a browser to measure advertising performance | Typically up to 3 months |
| _fbc | Meta Pixel (only after you accept, when you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram ad) | Stores information about the ad click | Typically up to 3 months |
You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings. If you have previously accepted and then reject, we stop sending new data and try to remove the Meta cookies, but data already sent to Meta stays subject to Meta’s own policies.
6. Who we share data with
- Meta Platforms (WhatsApp, and the Meta Pixel if you accept) and Telegram, whose apps you choose to use to contact us. They act under their own privacy policies.
- Our hosting provider and email provider, who process data on our behalf.
- Professional advisers and authorities where we are legally required to or need to defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal data.
7. International transfers
Some of the providers above may process data outside the UK or the European Economic Area. Where this happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, where the law requires them.
8. How long we keep data
- Chat messages, emails and trial records: for as long as needed to handle your request and support your trial, and generally no longer than 12 months after our last contact with you.
- Server logs: generally no longer than 30 days.
- Cookie choice: stored in your browser until you clear it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to our use of it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise a right, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity first. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, for example the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK (ico.org.uk).
10. Children
Our service is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has contacted us, email us and we will delete the data.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be shown on this page.
